Juneteenth: A Day of Freedom and Reflection
At Med-Cert Training Center, we believe in fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace that celebrates the rich tapestry of cultures and backgrounds that make up our team. In that spirit, we'd like to acknowledge Juneteenth, a significant day in American history that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. A Long Road to Freedom Juneteenth, also known as Juneteenth Independence Day or African American Emancipation Day, is observed annually on June 19th. It marks the day in 1865 when Union Major General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce that the enslaved people of the South were free, in accordance with the Emancipation Proclamation issued by President Abraham Lincoln in 1863.
